Building B4 occupies a unique position at the edge of the development, nestled between the ring road and Freeway No. 1. High-voltage power lines crossing the site made a single high-rise structure impossible. Instead, the design responds with a composition of two distinct volumes: a tower positioned in the power-line-free zone, and a lower annex extending across the remainder of the site.
The tower’s apartments are oriented outward, away from the power lines, each with its own distinct view direction. A continuous architectural frame unifies these varied orientations, stretching along the façade and giving the tower a clear visual identity.
The annex building is structured by the necessary vertical circulation – elevators and fire stairs – to access the units. At these service points, air-conditioning compressors are organized into louvered boxes, reducing clutter and maintaining clean lines.
To further calm the visual complexity of windows, balconies, and mechanical elements, the exterior materials – tile, metal cladding, and glass – were selected in a subdued, harmonized color palette. This creates a unified surface, while strong light-colored horizontal bands emphasize the annex’s linear character.
On the ground level, landscaped green spaces connect the tower and annex, guiding residents toward each building entrance. A pedestrian walkway along the annex is lined with feature trees, generous seating areas, and an elongated reflecting pool. The pool’s fountain introduces a gentle, ambient soundscape, softening the noise of the adjacent freeway and creating a serene environment for residents and visitors alike.
