Situated on a small island within a freshwater reservoir near Wuhan, this project envisions the transformation of a natural setting into a “training and conference retreat” for an emerging automobile manufacturer.

Given the limited possibilities for on-site construction, the proposal employs a cluster of lightweight, prefabricated units, allowing efficient assembly with minimal environmental impact. The island is primarily accessed by boat or ferry from the dam side, while a discreet service bridge connects essential utilities — electricity and wastewater — to the mainland grid.

The program includes a yacht club, restaurant, and sports facilities, integrated within the island’s topography. A walking trail encircles the site, inviting visitors to explore and experience the landscape. Along the path, small pavilions punctuate the route, framing curated views of the lake and surrounding hills, reinforcing the project’s dialogue between nature, structure, and retreat.
